I work with individuals, couples and families. I am a client centered and goal oriented therapist. I believe this is not one single approach to therapy that can help everyone, but it has long been understood that compassion and empathy are necessary  for any form of psychotherapy to be effective. Empathy alone wont be enough to help people change, getting the results you want from therapy will require  taking an active role in your own self-help.

NBCC Counselor

Araceli Gauna-Scattolini

My name is Araceli and I was originally born in Argentina. I come from a family with lots of siblings and understand that family and friend support systems can greatly impact our day-to-day interactions.

I graduated from University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and will be graduating in December 2019 with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Some major components of my training so far have included Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. Throughout my academic and professional journeys, I have worked with adolescents, young and middle adults, parents going through the divorce/separation process, and individuals with substance use.

Counseling is neither a one-way street, nor a one-person job. My role is to help you reach your own goals in the ways that you determine will benefit you the most. Counseling can be challenging, but it can be as equally rewarding as well.
